Public Holiday Declared on December 5

There will be a public holiday on December 5 in Sheikhupura, Punjab, because of the re-elections. The election is for the Punjab Assembly seat PP-139 in Ferozewala. The Deputy Commissioner’s Office announced the holiday.

Reason Behind This Public Holiday

The PP-139 seat became empty after Rana Afzal Hussain passed away. He had won the seat in a by-election after Rana Tanveer Hussain left it.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has appointed Shahid Imran Marth as the District Returning Officer. Usman Jalees will be the Returning Officer, and Muhammad Adeel Khan and Rana Bakhtiar Ahmad will be the Assistant Returning Officers for the election.
